Exercise and Sport Studies Minor
The purpose of the Exercise and Sport Studies minor is to prepare students for entry-level positions in coaching at the youth, club/interscholastic or college/university levels. Students who complete this minor will also be prepared to take the California Subject Examination (CSET) for physical education as a means to enter a single subject credential program to teach physical education. Students who complete this minor could also explore other career options related to exercise, physical activity, and sports. Additionally, students who complete this minor will be better prepared to apply for graduate programs in sport psychology and potentially become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP)
Students interested in applying for the minor must submit an application HERE. Students who submit an application will be contacted within two weeks to complete a Minor Course Agreement. Students may then schedule an optional meeting with the minor coordinator.
